5 Holiday Cocktails from Around the World

The holiday season is upon us! In the midst of all the frantic decorating, gift exchanges, Christmas luncheons and baking you may want to have a cocktail… or 3.

Perfect to serve yourself while you wrap presents or to prepare for your friends and family at a Christmas party– these holiday cocktails are inspired by regional alcoholic beverages that originate in locations around the world where we offer SeaTREK.

Warm Apple Pimms

Pimms No. 1 is a gin-based liquor invented in the U.K. in 1859. Only a few people know the exact ingredients, but we do know it includes gin, fruit juices and spices.  This warm spiced drink is sure to bring color to your cheeks and help you relax after a day of Christmas shopping in the cold.

Ingredients

  • 1 Orange
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 16 oz Apple Juice
  • 2 oz Dark Rum
  • 3 oz Pimms

Pour apple juice, orange slices and a cinnamon stick into a pot and heat until warm, add Pimms and Rum… Enjoy!

Saint Nickarita

Tequila is a well-known alcohol that originates in Mexico and is made from the blue agave plant. True tequila is only created in a few places in Mexico. This drink is bound to add a little cheer to your festivities.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz Tequila
  • ½ oz Cranberry juice
  • 1 oz Orange Liqueur
  • 1 oz Lime Juice
  • 1 oz Club Soda
  • Fresh Cranberries and Lime Wedges
  • Salt

Use a lime wedge to wet the edges of a margarita glass. Turn the glass upside down and dip in a shallow dish of salt. Add ice to the glass.

Combine Tequila, juices and liqueur in a cocktail shaker. Pour over ice. Add a splash of club soda and garnish with lime wedges and cranberries. Cheers to Saint Nick!

Bourbon Hot Chocolate

Bourbon is an American whisky that has been distilled since the 18th century. Made from a mixture of corn, rye, wheat and/or malted barley — bourbon is closely associated with Kentucky and the southern U.S.. Who doesn’t love a warm mug of hot chocolate with a little kick?

  • 3 ½ Cups Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla

Christmas Sangria

Sangria is a traditional Spanish drink that combines wine with juice, fruit, and sometimes brandy. A perfect party punch, Sangria is also beautiful and adds color to any holiday display. Sipping this sweet concoction at a Christmas party will lift your spirits and tantalize your taste buds.

  • 1 Bottle Red Wine
  • 2 Cups Pomegranate Juice
  • ½ Cup Apple Cider
  • ½ Cup Brandy
